Will tmobile be creating a software update that allows the Tmobile G1 phone to surf the net in landscapeing view with the keyboard closed? Also, instead of third party developers creating apps, will google professionally create apps for their device and OS? Last question for now, will they create a virtual keyboard for quick typing?

Will tmobile be creating a software update that allows the Tmobile G1 phone to surf the net in landscapeing view with the keyboard closed, but instead utilizing the accelerometer or something? Also, instead of third party developers creating apps, will google professionally create apps for their device and OS themselves? Last question for now, will they create a virtual keyboard for quick typing?

TMoble wont be making any apps at all. I’m pretty sure a virtual keyboard will come out soon and its up to the developers discretion whether or not they will utilize the accelerometer.

Very good phone since the MDA and Wing by Tmobile! Only 3 features missing ,Flash for camera, needs a windows media, and a Touch keypad ! Overall good!

everything is pretty good as everyone said but my peeve is the instant messenger tool. no comparison to the sidekick. at all. updat that, along with a touch keypad and professional apps…and weve got ourselves a winner!

I just upgraded from a Sidekick 08 and I’ve got to say that the AIM on the sidekick is wayyy better. They def need to update that. The battery dies fast which sucks!!–but other than that, Cool Phone!!

I got this phone because of it’s cool apps, just wondering though are there going to be any updates to adobe/java. I am also a Linux user – wlii the phone be able to have and use the compiz-fusion software.

I love my G1, but i can’t wait for the G2.
im just mad at the fact that i own a google phone and it does not have google earth. but the iphone does.
i hope its multi touch also, because the way the G1 is looking its no competition to the iphone.
Plus its a smart phone it should be microsoft office compatible, and have atleast microsoft word. and java and flash player. that would be awsome for the G1.
but for now im stuck with my yellow notepad and putting sticky notes on my screen.
1 last thing, the latest update gave me a video camera which i love and i can put them directly on youtube, that was a good idea. but itll be cool if you can choose what type of file to save it as for example: mpeg or avi.. not only quicktime.
because i’d like to edit all the videos with windows movie maker.

and please get the app pro done, because im tired of buying crappy apps.
and make it a bit faster cuz it lags alot especially switching from apps and getting off the internet, the screen goes blank for like 3 seconds and then goes normal.
the battery lasts me all dayy listening to music and texting and surfing the web. it still lasts all day.
it jst gets really hot when its charging.

but overall i’ll never change my G1 for an iPhone.
i Love my phone

My GPS was working good before I ran the last update for the “where” app. Now it either comes up location not found or it asks are you at …. and it would come up with a wrong location. How can I get itb back to the way it was ?

Comment by wendy cliff on October 17, 2009 @ 1:37 pm

(Cont.) Another that happened when I ran my last update – regarding text messaging – before the last update – for example: I would type in my sons cell phone # and in would be listed under my sons name. Then when he texted me back it would show under his name on the same thread like a continuous conversation. After the update – the text still goes out under his name, but when he text back it’s under his his phone #. So to follow the conversation you need to go between 2 different threads. Can this be fixed ?
