This G1 app also comes with intelligent searching and sorting as well as landscape mode. You can assign photos to your contacts and any changes to contact information on your phone automatically syncs with your Gmail contacts in the cloud. Overall, this is a solid contacts management application for the G1. The market currently has a “lite” free version that you can try out. There’s also a $2.99 version you can upgrade to for added features if you like the free version. 

You can view documents in landscape mode and use multiple zoom levels. It presents a familiar and intuitive interface, and everything is done with controls and buttons right on the screen (no need to go through the home button for settings etc.). You can view and create documents with full rich-text support. This is a full-fledged mobile office suit that offers excellent features and capabilities optimized for your G1. If you are a business user, it is fully worth the $19.99 on the Android Market.

The settings screen brims with customization choices: Empty Screen, Wallpaper Scrolling, Auto Rotate – all of which allow you to really customize the look-and-feel of your G1. Some of the icon choices on the default theme feel a little tacky, but some of the themes are definitely very professional, with clean icons and graphics. This is a great home replacement and customization app with a responsive and active development team behind it that responds pretty quickly to bug fixes and issues. 

It also adds a soft keyboard to the Google search function, but that can be removed if you don’t like it. This application is highly customizable. If you enjoy minimalism in your user interfaces, this is the app for you. It is also highly skinnable, with several skins available on the Market (both free and paid). The Open Home application sells for $3.99 on the Market. 

It works well most of the time, but I was sent to automated systems (not a real human being) twice in about a dozen trials. In both cases, I was able to lookup user comments and find a direct line immediately from within the application. I guess this happens when the company changes their system. 

This application is also available as a feature within the “Moov” launcher application featured in the previous review, so you won’t need to download this if you already have Moov. 

This is an invaluable application that helps improve an already frustrating experience. Cut down your wait times and talk directly with a customer service representative from over six hundred companies with Dial Zero. 

The application comes integrated with Google search, Fbook – a Facebook interface, and Quickpedia, Dial Zero (allowing access to a real human behind any major service)  and a few other features for quick reference.

Better still, the application learns as you make choices. As you can see in the screenshot above, it begins to automatically understand your intentions based on what you picked previously. This feature should vastly speed up common tasks. In order to have Moov recognize keypad input from the home screen, you’ll have to set it as the default behavior (the earlier G1 default would go through your Contacts list). 

Completed tasks can either be scratched out or removed altogether from the list when the task is checked-off on the list. 

The ability to add notes to tasks is a useful feature to help add details like phone numbers and addresses to specific tasks. Once the settings are configured, the interface gets out of the way and leaves you to simply create, prioritize, and efficiently complete tasks. 

Translated messages can be easily sent as a text message or an email with a single click. 

A large number of language pairs are available. This app is a must for anyone who travels a lot for business or pleasure. I would suggest using the text-to-speech feature only as a last resort. Otherwise, this little gem can get across the highest of language barriers. 

It presents you with your whole Contacts List. Next to each Contact is a check box which is quite self explanatory. You have the options to send a new message, select/unselect all, and select group. My complaints about the G1 App is that it force closes/waits a little too much. It does work ultimately but it takes a little too long.
