Imeem – Social Music
The Imeem Android application for your G1 is exclusively focussed on streaming music – so it acts as a radio, much like the Last.FM app reviewed here previously. It doesn’t allow picking individual tracks, but allows picking specific artists and plays various songs by the artist in the background as you do other stuff on your G1. It stores your favorites and ratings, and pulls in many features from the social aspect of the service, such as community favorites.
The streaming music quality is high and there is a pretty large collection to pick from. The application shows small unobtrusive ads that can be closed easily. The Last.FM application reviewed previously does not have ads. All in all a very decent and functional app allowing pretty sophisticated library features. You’ll need an Imeem account to use this, and that can be created from within the application.
