About BioWallet

A biometric authentication system for Android. The application features iris recognition and can act as a password safe and provide single sign-on for other Android apps. Using your phone’s camera, take a picture of your eye. Further access will only be granted if the safety system registers an iris “match” between the photo taken and the comparison iris image. BioWallet is a Password Manager that uses strong encryption systems without the need for passwords!

What if you take the picture slightly slanted? and how do you know you got your eye at least mostly in the picture? Will it still work, it seems like a really good app but will it function correctly?

When will this app be released….at leaset can some1 tell us a release date

Comment by paul on November 14, 2008 @ 9:43 pm

This app and a lot of other good apps will more than likely not be out till late january. And this is not speculation. And here is why…..google says that they are not going to have any charged applications for 90 days. When you first open up the market…it says “Market Beta”. When 90 days is up you will see the “next” generation” applications. Some will be charging and some will not. But not until then.

hi, ive waited 8 months for this app plzz give us a release date or an expected release date

Comment by mike on August 9, 2009 @ 5:41 pm

I have been reading about this app for some time now, they really should not post that this is for the G1 if there is no download for it.

Comment by Gary Joyner on August 10, 2009 @ 1:34 am

how do i program this app?

Comment by Johan on August 18, 2009 @ 11:32 am

I am also waoting since 8 months. If they want a real stable app why not produce something a bit more simple. We T1 users get what was promissed and the Bio Walet producers get a lot of users information for free. So come on guys. 8 months is more than enough

Comment by robert sierra on August 19, 2009 @ 3:11 pm

I’ve been waiting a bit to try this app as well and seeing these comments that are up to a year old asking for a release date is disheartening, and the fact that you still don’t have an expected release date is making a lot of people question your credibility, you won competitions and got sponsoring, prove it’s not a setup please and give us a timeframe

Comment by angeleno on August 26, 2009 @ 3:16 am

App is now in beta. I’m currently beta testing it, so it WILL be coming out soon!

Currently, login is by signature recognition only, but they say that voice recognition and retina recognition will be added.

And, even as is, it’s a VERY nice program!

Comment by Ruffo on August 26, 2009 @ 12:43 pm

thanks man for that appl

Comment by ez on August 27, 2009 @ 4:13 pm

Comment by Quinte on September 13, 2009 @ 1:26 am

moving on to the next app.

Comment by nonie on October 1, 2009 @ 12:21 pm

I’ve been checkin periodically to see if this app has been placed on the market and no luck….everyone move on this is never coming out next app…

Comment by Mickey on October 12, 2009 @ 8:41 pm

…I just found out about this “App” and got really excited and thought i could download it, but then my hopes were of course crushed..Please hurry with this app!!!

Comment by jamie wood on October 16, 2009 @ 11:57 am

Wow…there are so many people interested in trying this app, such as myself and have waited for so long and it still ain’t up in the market. I think the app developer should atleast keep us waiters informed about the 1 year progress…if there actually is a progress…atleast then we know the app is up and being worked on…

Comment by Sniperoid on October 19, 2009 @ 3:13 am

I’ve been reading for so long about this application and have tried so many times to follow its development but it always ended up in a closed road.
I think this application DOES NOT EXIST, and some sick minded individual(s) is(are) enjoying this attention or they might have other intentions. Give us some solid proof that this app exists not just some images of it which anyone could hack in 15 min in Photoshop.

Comment by BioWallet Team on November 11, 2009 @ 5:19 am

Hi guys,

we are sorry you are dissapointed with the delay in the BioWallet release. We didn’t want to raise false expectations at all. In fact, the application has generated much more publicity than we wanted by far.

Regarding iris recognition, it has been working since the first time it was sent to the ADC I, but at that point Android devices didn’t even exist and all the development was made under the emulator. When the G1 came out, we were really dissapointed with its low performance and poor camera (compare it with a Nokia camera) and since then we have been working hard to solve these limitations. It’s not easy, but we are convinced it’s possible (if not with the HTC Dream or Magic, it will be with other phones), and we have quit our jobs some weeks ago to make it a reality.

Again, we never wanted to create false expectations about features, release dates, etc. we just want to develop it as best and as soon as we can and release it. All the hype and buzz that has been generated around is something we haven’t looked for.

We are currently running a beta program with handwritten signature recognition. There will be another betas in the future, hopefully with new biometric methods, but I daren’t say an estimate date.

If you want to be informed you can follow us subscribing to our mailing list (”Keep me in the loop!” form in our web page http://www.biowallet.net), through our blog (biowallet.blogspot.com) or twitter (twitter.com/biowallet)

Thanks,

BioWallet Team.

P.D.: If somebody still thinks the application doesn’t exist, please contact us direcly and we will be happy to provide the proofs.

Comment by Eleazar on November 16, 2009 @ 2:39 pm

Has this app been released????? i bought a damn myTouch just to get this biowallet app. and if i bought this phone for nuthing i am seriously going to tell all t-mobile and mytouch and any other android user to sell the phones and switch to att for the iPhone. at least they are sure about what they are doing

Comment by curtz on December 24, 2009 @ 8:39 am

For Eleazar: how a bout u spend a minute reading at least the last post from the developer before you go mouthing off about expectations that were never made in the first place. Switch to att&t because of one app? You’re an idiot.
